PFi Awarded Another CIK Event For 2012

Posted on: 18/10/2011 in: News CIK-FIA World KF1 Championship  &  CIK-FIA European KF2 & KF3 Championship 18th – 22nd July 2012 Trent Valley Kart Club are pleased to announce that they have secured yet another CIK fixture for PFi in 2012! 2012 will see not only a EUROPEAN Championship but a WORLD Championship aswell! For the past two years, TVKC has staged the Northern Region CIK-FIA European Qualifiers for KF2 & KF3 which were both a resounding success.  Thanks to the triumph of these two events, a ‘World’ Championship was on the carsd for PFi but one thing stood in the way….the overall circuit length.  So the plans were laid to rectify this situation and the extended track, which includes a bridge and was officially opened in October 2011, now boasts an overall circuit length of 1382m – long enough for a CIK World Championship! Trent Valley Kart Club and PF International kart circuit will stage the:
CIK-FIA World KF1 Championship (Round 3)
CIK-FIA European KF2 & KF3 Championship (Round 2)
18th – 22nd July 2012
The CIK-FIA World KF1 Championship is held over 5 rounds in total…Round 1: Varennes (France) in April, Round 2: Suzuka (Japan) in May, Round 3: PFi (UK) in July, Round 4: Sarno (Italy) in September and Round 5:  Macau (Macau) in October. The CIK-FIA European KF2 & KF3 Championship will run to a different format in 2012.  In previous years, these Championships have comprised of 2 regional qualification events (North & South) followed by a Final.  However, in 2012, the Championships will be over 2 rounds…KF2 Round 1: Wackersdorf (Germany) in June followed by Round 2: PFi (UK) in July.  KF3 Round 1: Varennes (France) in April followed by Round 2: PFi (UK) in July. This will be another huge race meeting for TVKC & PFi and a landmark event for UK Karting.  Over 40yrs have passed since the last World Championship kart race meeting in the UK so this event will be the first of its kind in the modern day era of karting.  We hope you’ll be able to help us celebrate this spectacle of a UK kart race meeting! TVKC are currently looking for helpers to assist at this meeting.  If you would like to be involved in the event in some way, please contact Clare Mills at to register your interest.
