Charity Balloon Race

This year our annual charity balloon race had an extra special meaning to it as it was in memory of our great friend and fellow TVKC official, Bill Saunders.

Bill was one of our most dedicated, popular and knowledgeable members of the TVKC team who supported the Club for many years and was a regular and popular face in the Scrutineering team.  He will be sadly missed.

We were honoured to be joined by Bill’s wife, Eileen, his son Andrew and his family and Bill’s sister, Barbara who witnessed the minute’s applause when the balloons were released in his memory.

We are pleased to announce, that with the sale of the balloon race tickets aswell as some very generous donations, an amazing £641 was raised over the weekend! All of this money has been donated to Bill’s chosen charity, the University College London Amyloid Research Fund.  Thank you to everyone who helped support this amazing and worthy cause.

Charity Balloon Race

In Memory of Bill Saunders

Kartmasters has become renowned  for its Charity Balloon race but this year it has an extra special meaning to it.  Only a few weeks ago, we lost one of our most dedicated, popular and knowledgeable members of the TVKC team, Bill Saunders.  Bill supported the Club for many years and was a regular and popular face in the Scrutineering team.  He will be sadly missed.

We will be  joined at the meeting by Bill’s wife, Eileen, his son Andrew and his family and Bill’s sister, Barbara.  A minute’s applause will take place just before the start of the first Grand Prix, at the same time, the balloons will be released in his memory.  The balloon tickets are £5 each and all of the money raised will go to Bill’s chosen charity, the University College London Amyloid Research Fund.  Tickets will be available to buy from Race Control.
