The CIK-FIA 2017 Award Ceremony took place last weekend in Milan. In the presence of Sheikh Abdulla Bin Isa Al- Khalifa, President of the CIK-FIA and the Vice President, Kees Van De Grint, the 2017 Champions received their much-deserved awards.
Each year, the CIK-FIA also make a special presentation to the Organiser of the ‘CIK-FIA Best Event’ award. This year that prestigious accolade was presented to Trent Valley Kart Club in recognition for the 2017 CIK-FIA World Championships held at PF International Kart Circuit held in September. The Club would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at the CIK-FIA who voted for them and also to congratulate everyone involved at TVKC who helped to make the event such a success!
Following such a dominating karting season for many UK drivers, the British contingent were out in force to collect their spoils. Congratulations go once again to Danny Keirle, Dexter Patterson, Christopher Lulham, Harry Thompson and Jonny Edgar for their amazing achievements this year!
The night was made even more special when Paul Fletcher was given a special recognition award In honour of his long and outstanding contribution to Karting. Attending the event in person, Paul received his award from Kees Van De Grint.
Attending the event on behalf of Trent Valley Kart was Club Chairman, Nigel Edwards…
“What a very special way to end the season, the best UK drivers in the World, The best Organisation in the World (TVKC) and one of the ‘icons’ of UK Karting over the years (Paul Fletcher) all receiving their awards at the CIK-FIA Presentation event. As Chairman of TVKC I am very proud to lead our TEAM and prove to the World that we can provide the organisation and facility for our drivers to perform on – and boy did they perform! Over the last 10 years the Club has taken great steps forward and has become the ‘benchmark’ for others to follow, we are always looking to improve and prepare for the future, whilst being mindful of our customer’s requirements. Working with Paul Fletcher, has of course, helped us achieve our goals and we, and the Karting World, should be forever grateful to him. 2018 will be another immense season for the Club as we complete our Winter Series and move onto 2 Rounds of the S1 Championships, 2 Rounds of the LGM, the KMGP and our course Round 2 of the CIK-FIA European OK & OKJ Championships, as well as our normal Club Championship, another stunning year in prospect.”
